2 cups rice
water

Rinse rice under cold water.  Cook the rice over moderate heat, uncovered, until
most  of the water has evaporated, or is absorbed. Place the cover on the pot,
reduce heat to low for about 20 minutes.  Rice is done when you press down
gently with a fork, and the rice tends to spring back up.

Note: Most Asians use a Rice Cooker that they keep on all day.  The rice cookers
can be found in Asian markets and range from $50 to $100 dollars.

The type shown here are normally used by most Asians.  Don't waste your time
with the K-Mart or WalMart brands.  These hold from 5-10 cups and can be left on
all day & night.  Many use Jasmine or Fragrant rice because of the aroma that
gently flows through the house.
Rice cookers can be found on the internet.  Generally speaking,
rice cookers are cheaper in an Asian store.
