
| Denver Style Relleno ~ Not a true Relleno -- but there are some that claim (and sell) these as true Chile Rellenos (in Denver). At best these could be called a Chinese Egg Roll stuffed with green chile. 1 package egg rolls 1 pound of cheddar cheese, shredded 1 green chile per egg roll wrapper salt to taste oil for deep-frying 1. Cut chile along one side. Open and remove stem and seed ball. 2. Place small amount of cheese in chile and close chile. Salt to taste. 3 Place chile in egg roll, moisten end flap of egg roll wrapper with a touch of water and close. 4. After rolling egg rolls, deep-fry 3-4 at a time, drain on paper towel. Serve hot Makes about 24 |
