Kartoffelklöße ~ German Potato Dumplings~ Potato dumplings
are a welcome change when it comes to dumplings


4-5 medium potatoes
1 egg (you may need 2)
2 tbsp milk
1 tsp butter, softened
½ tsp salt (or salt to taste)
1 tbsp flour
½ cup bread crumbs

1. Boil the potatoes (skins on) and cool. Peel and press through a food mill or
ricer.

2. Mix bread crumbs, egg, butter, and milk, when mixed add riced potatoes and
salt to taste.  You may have to add another egg if your "dough" is stiff.

3. Mold into balls (about the size of a golf ball). Lightly flour and place into
boiling salted water.

4. Cover and boil about 8-10 minutes.  Serve hot.
