2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp double-acting baking powder
1 stick (½ cup) cold unsalted butter, cut into bits
½ cup plus 2 tbsp milk

1.  Sift flour, baking powder, and salt; add the butter, and blend the mixture until it
resembles coarse meal.

2.  Add the milk and stir the mixture until it just forms a dough.

3.  Bake at 425 degrees F, unless directed otherwise, in the recipes calling for
this dough.
